Faculty Position Opening

Institute of Applied Mechanics

 College of Engineering, National Taiwan University

The Institute of Applied Mechanics, College of Engineering, National Taiwan University, invites applications for full-time faculty positions. Candidates at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor will be considered. Successful candidate should demonstrate solid training and innovative research in the broad area of applied mechanics. Those with research fields in connection with novel applications of mechanics in energy technology, smart machinery, or biomedical technology are especially welcomed. Proven experience in working with interdisciplinary research team is desirable. Passion in graduate teaching is essential. Candidates must have an earned doctoral degree (or equivalent) in engineering, physics, or related discipline.

This opening shall last for a long period of time. The review process of the Institute shall be separated into four stages. The deadline of submissions for each stage is June 30 (2018), September 30 (2018), December 31 (2018), and February 28 (2019), respectively.

The National Taiwan University (ranked 76 in the QS World University Rankings), about 32,000 students (half graduate students) and over 2,000 faculty members, is the flagship university in Taiwan. The Institute of Applied Mechanics currently enrolls with over 158 students for master’s degrees and more than 34 students for doctoral degrees.
